Les deux inventeurs derrière le nom Galle'N Swan

The two inventors of the studio

Galle’N Swan associates in the Parisian studio two unknowns of 18th and 19th centuries inventors, André Galle and Joseph Swan.

​

Mostly famous for his engraver career, he was also the inventor of the mechanical chain called "The Galle chain" that was patented in 1829 then 1832.

An English electrical and chemical engineer, he demonstrated the first filament lamp in 1878.

The  Galle and Swan teams, as worthy representatives, work in their workshop to create together the mechanical lamps so special to the Galle’N Swan studio.
